How long has it been since you scheduled some "girl" time? After being on my feet all day at our store in Montrose, it was a welcome gift when my sister offered to treat me to a mani-pedi. We decided to check out the new nail salon that's right in the middle of MOUNTAIN ROSE GIFTS and REVELATION TOPS. I'm so glad we did! It's called OLIVIA'S NAIL LOUNGE, with a 5 star rating on Yelp.

For only $30 you get to sit in this state of the art massage chair and have a gourmet mani-pedi which includes a foot soak with fresh lime slices, and a hot stone massage. Bliss!

And look at the view! I'm always so busy working! It was nice to just chill and watch the Montrose world go by. They are efficient here but they don't rush you. It was dark when we left, relaxed and with perfectly manicured nails.

The colors and decor are in good taste and the music is just perfect. If you know me, you know when I say this I am impressed. Atmosphere is SO important. The music here was just the right volume, clear, French inspired!, and the right balance of peaceful and energetic. It complements what they do.

Here are my new green toenails. A first! A great match for our new St. Patty's, Easter, and Spring TOPS!

Lunch & Christmas Boutique At The Sportsman's Lodge

This was the famous hangout of Clark Gable, Katherine Hepburn, & John Wayne! Today it's a popular filming destination and host to fabulous events.

Fun At The Montrose Film Festival

Once a year every August we stay late in Montrose to watch a movie under the stars. We met at our store Revelation TOPS which is all ready for Fall, Cali style. That means a new transitional color palette in lightweight fabrics because it can be rather warm here.

Fashion Show At The Pasadena Women's City Club

It was  fun " ladies who lunch" kind of day! Our store Revelation TOPS was  invited to do a fashion show at the Pasadena Women's City Club! 

Dale joined me with goodies from our other store Mountain Rose Gifts and we arrived at this historic club in Pasadena, of Rose Bowl fame. 

The grounds here are peaceful and well manicured.

We were privileged to join this friendly group for luncheon.

Be still my heart! Lunch was accompanied by popovers!

And then these happy Carrot Cakes for dessert! Yes it was the "cherry on the cake"!

After lunch it was fashion  show time. Do I look like I am wearing the podium or what?  The fun part was with this microphone I got to move around and talk.  

The piano music started and it was time for the show!

As the models came out we shared this year's Fashion trends. Open shoulders  and bell sleeves are extremely popular right now.  

Following the fashion show was a very moving speaker who  shared her testimony of how she came to know the Lord and what He has done in her life. I wish I would've taken a picture but I was intent on listening to her every word.

God's Rainbow Over Montrose

Yesterday I saw something I have never seen in my life. I was in my store, Revelation TOPS, and had just finished selling a bunch of cute tops to a special customer. I had that satisfied feeling you get when someone looks great in your clothes and is happy you are there. As I was watching her leave, Shop Montrose custom tote in hand, I noticed an unusual golden glow outside. Just then my husband called and said "Go outside! There is something you need to see!"

And there it was! A HUGE DOUBLE rainbow!!!

I was speechless! It seemed to start across town and end right on top of our store! I felt like the Lord was speaking to me, assuring me He has heard my prayers. What a relief it is to know God and know He hears your prayers and will lead you in what is best, according to His will.

As I looked around the scene was like this. People were stopping their cars, pulling out their phones, and looking up....staring. We were witnessing a rare sight and we all knew it. And then there was that golden glow and a light rain. Amazing!

This pic I dedicate to our friend Steve P. who lovingly maintains the Montrose Vietnam War Memorial, the oldest in the nation. The rainbow was right over it and our American flag!

The Bible has a lot to say about rainbows. They represent the covenant God made with us. They are also around His throne. Just take a moment and read this:

"And God said, "This is the sign of the covenant I am making between Me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come:
 I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between Me and the earth.  Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will remember My covenant between Me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life. Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth." So God said to Noah, "This is the sign of the covenant I have established between Me and all life on the earth." Genesis 9:12-17

And here is what it looks like in heaven:

Revelation 4:1-4  Then as I looked, I saw a door standing open in heaven, and the same voice I had heard before spoke to me like a trumpet blast. The voice said, “Come up here, and I will show you what must happen after this.” And instantly I was in the Spirit, and I saw a throne in heaven and someone sitting on it. The one sitting on the throne was as brilliant as gemstones—like jasper and carnelian. And the glow of an emerald circled his throne like a rainbow. Twenty-four thrones surrounded him, and twenty-four elders sat on them. They were all clothed in white and had gold crowns on their heads.

Thank you Lord for that beautiful rainbow and for what it means! What an experience!

Love Shoppin' For Tops

This cheery display in the lobby of the L.A. Fashion capitol was the start of a FUN day shopping for our store Revelation TOPS.

First stop...a quick breakfast at the Buyers Lounge. Notice the colors in this pic. CHARCOAL & TOBACCO are top fashion colors in ready to wear and home decor. The furniture in the Buyers club is new and you can see the sofa is CHARCOAL. In, In, In.

We will crawl on the floor if we have to in search of new tops. hahahaha!

After a very successful day we caught some Pokemon at the nearest Poke stop. "Whoda" guessed? 

Revelation Tops Summer Fashion Show at the Sportsmen's Lodge

This was the scene as we "set up shop" at the Encino Oaks Republican Women's luncheon held at the famous Sportsmen's Lodge this week. Our stores REVELATION TOPS and MOUNTAIN ROSE GIFTS were honored to be invited to do the boutique and Fashion Show.

 

My sister and I enjoy doing these kinds of events. This day we were happy to wear our latest bling tops and best selling sleeves.

My nice hubby Dale had a great time doing what he loves. What a help he was including being our photographer for the fashion show.

The tables were decorated in a festive, patriotic theme. Pssstt...check out who the speaker is for the September meeting! Yep! Dennis Prager!

What a spectacular view we enjoyed! This is the sight of many movies, TV shows, and special occasions. LOTS of Hollywood history here.

Prior to lunch we were treated to the amazing voice of Jan Lacey Chorley. She sang a variety of Patriotic songs that honored the Lord and made us thankful for the country in which we live. Just beautiful and so peaceful. I was transported by her gift of song.

And now for one of my favorite things of the day. LUNCH! Every meal I have had here has been delicious! The service is top notch too. Today we enjoyed Grilled Shrimp Salad...

and Vegetarian Pasta. Both were yummy. I could make a meal of their warm, crusty rolls and assortment of decorated butters.

Well ladies it's show time!

FUN! FUN! FUN! Did we have FUN! This model was such a good sport! She had us cracking up when I asked her to bark into the mic and SHE DID IT! With gusto!

This gal runs the largest conservative network for millennials on the West Coast! She is rocking our drama tank and "one of a kind" Paris jeans. Being so close to Hollywood we get lots of studio execs, rockers wives, and women in the "biz".

Oh what a nice day supporting the Republican party, having lunch, listening to beautiful music, seeing the latest fashions, meeting new friends, and shopping! Could it get any better?

Yes! There were raffles and fab prizes like this money tree!!!

Carole was thrilled to win our table centerpiece!

Thank you Lord for a wonderful time and opportunity! We all felt like Queen for the day!

First Ever Montrose Kids & Moms Fashion Show

This is the sight of the first ever KIDS & MOMS FASHION SHOW right in the heart of Montrose!

 

The vision for the show was born in our MSPA Marketing Committee by my friend and next door neighbor GiGi Garcia who owns the popular kids boutique IT TAKES A VILLAGE. As soon as she shared her idea I was quick to jump on it. I love fashion shows! And here we are today, our dream becoming a reality.

This adorable salon, BUBBLE CUTS, also in our block, did a phenomenal job of styling all the kids hair. Kids love it here! They can watch TV and be entertained while getting their new do. Owner Carlos, (right), even had donuts! O happy day!

We had some time before our stores opened and the show so we hit the Sunday Montrose Harvest Market. Here my sister Carole is wearing her new Revelation TOP with colorful lace and a flutter sleeve.

Check out these gourmet veggies sold right in front of our store! I've never seen cauliflower like that!

There was so much going on in town this day including a strolling mariachi trio, pet parade, and taste of Montrose!

It's fashion show time and the models are getting assembled in the tent.

I am loving being the emcee on a beautiful SoCal day in the town I love, with people I love, talking fashion, enjoying the kids, and making new friends. Thank you Lord!

Let the show begin! I hope video surfaces of this adorable actress, you can see her on the TV show "Transparent",  who danced to the music up and down the runway. Everyone loved it! My sister took this pic and was struck by the little boy in the background. She sure got his attention! LOL!

Here is the beautiful and talented owner of VILLAGE BOUTIQUE & BOARDSHOP with her adorable daughter.

These girls are best friends and are often seen in town. I call them M&M. M (left) whose Mom owns IT TAKES A VILLAGE, has already been on magazine covers and in national commercials and M (Right) family owns MONTROSE CANDY CO., also in our block.

Courtney, a local high school principal, is modeling a fave outfit from REVELATION TOPS. The open shoulder tunic is light as a feather and made in the USA. The 4 way stretch capris have an amazing pull on fit and are adorned with crystal bows at the calves. Looks like she has a handful with son Armen! LOL!

The show must go on and there's always something going on behind the scenes. God Bless my husband Dale who is in charge of events & business manager for the Montrose Shopping Park. We had unexpected mic problems and he discovered a loose wire that was the culprit. It caused me to have to move away from the runway, hold the mic a certain way without moving, and all while he held the wire in place, on his knees, the entire show! But we did it!!! This guy deserves a medal!

The icing on the cake was being interviewed and filmed by our wonderful social media team CONCISE FOCUS. Husband and wife owners Valerie and Mitchell are extremely talented! Let The TOP Shopping Begin!

It was a cold and overcast day as we attended the L.A. Spring ready to wear show in search of happy, new TOPS for our store REVELATION TOPS!

First stop the Buyers Lounge to grab a quick bite and get our parking comped.

Enjoying a minute of calm before a busy round of showrooms.

Time flies when you are having shopping fun and before we knew it it was time for lunch. It's always appreciated when the showrooms treat the buyers giving us more time to shop. What a healthy lunch this was! A local restaurant came in and served fresh tacos with rice, beans, and all the toppings. Yes!

Here's a view many showrooms have looking south in downtown L.A. We don't get many rainy days like this.

Shop, shop, shop...until the cupcake cart arrived. O happy day!

Aren't they pretty? Just like all the NEW TOPS we bought! It's going to be a good year!
