L.A. Fashion Week Adventure With XCVI

I L-O-V-E L.A.!!! Our store, Revelation TOPS , was invited to the XCVI Fashion Show for L.A. Fashion Week. The event was held at L.A. Live in the newly remodeled and trendy downtown area near the Staples center. This is just one example of the many new condos people are flocking to now, right in the midst of all the action.


We had to pop in this trendy furniture store and try out this sofa.


Here's the look of downtown L.A. today.

We made it! Past security and up to the private Fashion Week event on the rooftop.

My Favorite Giant Tote

During the Summer months we look forward to spending our day off at the beach. Our new routine is to throw what we need for the day into this "fun to carry" tote. Towels, books, sunscreen, jackets, and more all find there way in here.

The size of this carry all is very impressive. It's almost 2 feet wide! I also use it on grocery store runs. It holds   thermal and recycle bags going in and LOTS of grocery items going out. The clerks always seem to brighten up when they see it because it's happy and different than a lot of the boring bags they deal with.

My first giant tote, pictured below, I now use for  jewelry making supplies. When the creative mood strikes I just pick up my black and white tote and everything is there waiting for me.

I wanted to share about this because the company who designs them is owned by a Christian woman. It's called THIRTY ONE GIFTS and is based on the principles found in Proverbs 31, one of my favorite chapters of the Bible. Front Row Seats for XCVI at L.A. Fashion Week!!!

Getting ready to walk the red carpet and head inside for XCVI's invitation only fashion show...Here's proof that Carole can walk and text at the same time.


Our names were on the list. We got our bracelets and were granted entrance by the security guards. Now we are in the courtyard where there is a party going on....Nice wheels!


The music surrounds us...like being on a ride.

Lots of photographers and paparazzi...Now that's a camera!


This is a great place to watch for emerging trends. I noticed many of the guys had their hair styled like this: clean shaven sides with lots of hair on top.


Most of the women were wearing sky high heels. The higher the better.


We caught the end of the Brigade show and enjoyed seeing the Pomeranians.


We were thrilled to be assigned to the coveted front row, right where the models come out. There were large gift bags on our seats. Yippee!!!

The hot trends for Fall: leggings & jeggings continue in a load of new washes...in tops it's all about the wide sleeve treatments. (Don't forget, you heard it here first)

Buyers Fashion Show At The California Market Center

It was the end of a busy day shopping for Revelation TOPS  when we decided to stay for the private fashion show in the lobby of L.A.'s premiere fashion building.


The lobby was packed with buyers, designers, owners, press, and paparazzi.


Trader Vics was serving appetizers...


...the D.J. was spinning tunes. Carole and I found a little table, standing room only, got settled, looked up, and....

...SURPRISE!!! There we were pictured on a big screen!

What fun!


From our vantage point we got a closeup view of paparrazzi at work, and forward fashion trends.


I've spent many years walking through this lobby and continue to love the fashion business. It's a thrill!
