We have been enjoying "Crepe Myrtle" season here in sunny Southern California. All over the southland crepe myrtle trees have been bursting forth in shades of fushia, pink, lilac, coral, and winter white, one more beautiful than the next. Here is what we see when we look out our bedroom windows: fushia crepe myrtle, with a backdrop of lilac, and the mountains. It is like a present.

This is the road we take to get from our house to Simi Valley. Simi is just West of Chatsworth and the home of the Ronald Reagan Library. Looking to the right, I never noticed this before.
I got out of the car to take a closer look. The movie industry strikes again. Hidden here in the mountain pass are movie sets.

We drove down to get a closer look and felt like we went back in time to the Wild, Wild West. These eucalyptus trees are so fragrant. They have been here a long time and are loaded with oil.
Wagon wheels and rocks epitomize this part of town.
There are lots of varieties of cactus.
We discovered a tree house! Another fun sight seeing trip just minutes from home.

Yesterday, amid torrential downpours, we were blessed to have the Hallorans visit. They were such a blessing to us! Paul pastored Chatsworth Lake Church for 10 years through 1995.
The rain did not stop us from coming to worship the Lord. It was a HAPPY day!
It was pouring so hard we couldn't go outside so we celebrated Elmer and Doug's birthdays indoors.
Fellowship time!
After church we were treated to a wonderful lunch at Chatsworth Deli. It was so fun to sit in a cozy place and watch the rain. The comedian SINBAD often eats here.
We came back at night for our weekly prayer meeting and Bible study. Tonight we began studying the book of Ezekiel. What an exciting book!!! So much is revealed about what God's throne is like. Have you ever read it? It's not too late to join us.

My friend Ana loves to walk and we picked a perfect day for it. These were taken just last week, after our rains. The sun was out, the air was crisp, and colors were vivid. This is the view from behind our house.
