Imagine your mind as calm as this sea. This came to mind while reading Philippians 2:14
"Do all things without grumbling or disputing."
To grumble is to complain about something in a muted way. Now why would GOD instruct us in His Word not to grumble? Ever. This is something that seems to be inherent in us, especially when things aren't going our way. I guess when we grumble what we are really saying is we are not happy with how God is leading in our lives.
Disputing is to disagree, argue, and debate in a heated way. As followers of the Lord we are not to do that either. Hmmm. Something to remember and work on.
Verse 15 goes on to explain, "that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world."
I am not attracted to a "light" that grumbles and argues. Are you?
