Last Monday was the perfect day to go to Universal. It was sunny, on the cool side, and no lines. I went with out of town friends recently but didn't get to see all of the attractions. It was my husbands first time in 20 years. We had a fantastic day! We enjoyed seeing all of the costumed characters that showed up throughout the day.

Universal is on top of a mountain. There is an upper lot and a lower lot each with their own attractions. To get to the lower lot you need to ride a series of very steep escalators. While you are riding you get to listen to the music from their movies and take in a spectacular view.

Here's a view of the escalators from the bottom.

This was our first time on the Jurassic Park ride. It is an indoor/ outdoor roller coaster and you will get splashed. Very fun!

Now for The Mummy ride... if you dare. If you are wearing a hat you might want to take it off because you may lose it. The ride starts out entering the dark mummy cave very slowly. Then ALL OF A SUDDEN it turns into a whiplashing high speed roller coaster. You scream as you go up, down, sideways and then SUDDENLY STOP. There's a 2 second pause and then its BACKWARD, high speed, to the entrance. WHEW!...Yes, I would do it again.

We encountered this fellow on the way out.

These two were walking around just outside the ride. They were fascinating, especially their eyes. The guy had fun playing with my hair while the pics were taken.

I love the view of the studios from up here. Wonder how many stars are down there right now and what they are filming.

The Waterworld Show was amazing!!!

Man's best friend.

Ran into Dracula outside The House Of Horrors. Glad I was wearing a scarf!
How cute!
It's SHREK!
Our last ride of the day turned out to be one of the best. The Simpson ride was part roller coaster, part floating in space in the Simpson world. I don't know how they do it. But as Arnie, in the Terminator says, "I'll be back!"
